Lead by Dr. Nathalie Cabrol and funded by the NASA Astrobiology Institute, a team of scientists, divers and explorers are ascending three high-altitude volcanoes in Chile and Bolivia (one over 19,000 feet), diving into the crater lakes and collecting data in the unique ecosystem of high altitude, very thin atmosphere, severe temperature changes, and intense ultraviolet radiation. In addition to information, photos and letters from the field with real-time information about the expedition, there are also weekly downloadable 'podcasts' which provide audio and video from the expedition. Each week a new podcast will be available so check back on the website weekly or you can subscribe to the podcast via iTunes.
