Thursday Evening

The Northwest Passage in Story and Song

Featuring Inuit cultural performers Siqiniup Qilauta & Sunsdrum with Canadian singer-songwriter and expedition host David Newland

The Northwest Passage in Story and Song is a musical and cultural introduction to the people, the history, and the landscape of the Canadian Arctic. Inuit performers Siqiniup Qilauta / Sunsdrum will engage the audience with throat-singing, drum-dancing, and participatory Arctic games. Canadian singer-songwriter and expedition host David Newland will present images, stories and original songs inspired by Arctic exploration, and by the lure of the Northwest Passage. Together, this dynamic trio will open our eyes to the beauty, the mystery, and the reality of the Canadian Arctic.
