Bonobos: Back to the Wild - Screening and Discussion with Claudine André

You are invited to hear Claudine André share her daring story of great ape protection and view a segment of the film BONOBOS: Back to the Wild.

Claudine André is an internationally acclaimed wildlife conservationist, and charismatic storyteller, who founded the world's only bonobo sanctuary, located in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Female-dominant bonobos are the most affectionate and intriguing of all the great apes. While humans share 98.7% of DNA in common with bonobos, these apes have learned how to sustain peace in a country ravaged by human fueled war. We have much to learn from this female-dominant species: while humans excel in creating technologies, bonobos know how to sustain peace.

BONOBOS: Back to the Wild is an award winning film that chronicles Ms. Andre's heroic success in protecting bonobos from extinction due to the rapacious bush meat trade. The London Daily Mail applauds the movie as "The Best African wildlife adventure film since Born Free".
