Chapter Event - Canada Chapter

Our speaker will be explorer Adam Shoalts. On his expeditions, Adam explores remote areas of the Canadian wilderness that no known expeditions have previously explored, and in some cases are not even accurately mapped. These are highly remote wilderness areas where many of the landmarks remain unnamed. He has made the first exploration in recorded history of three different rivers in the Hudson Bay watershed, and discovered a previously unknown and uncharted waterfall. Shoalts presented the Royal Canadian Geographic Society's flag that he carried on his expeditions to His Excellency, David Johnston, Governor General of Canada and patron of the RCGS. Adam was also profiled in a front page Toronto Star article, which described him as "Canada's Indiana Jones." Adam is currently a PhD student at McMaster University, researching the history of North American exploration. He has recently applied for membership into the Explorers Club.
