Saturday Science for Students at the Explorer's Club w/ Dr. Mark Ringenary

Overview of NPS legislation and how it relates to management of natural and cultural resources within a highly developed urban area.

Dr. Mark Ringenary is a Water Resources Specialist with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and M.S. in Environmental Health Science from Brooklyn's Polytechnic University. His research involved the development of a toxicity test methodology using a multi-generational bioassay for the evaluation of sediment contamination.

As a biologist for the National Park Service, Dr. Ringenary's major role is to perform limnological analysis of estuarine, salt and fresh water ecosystems. This compromises the monitoring and evaluation of chemical, physical and biological parameters. Our major focus of the Water Quality (WQ) monitoring program is related to bacteriological analysis, use for the protection of public health and safety of our public bathing beaches.
