Seminar Series - Doc Hermalyn

How To Plan A Trip

On March 9, 2017, Doc Hermalyn FE’75, will discuss ‘How To Plan A Trip’, specifically addressing important components including the trip’s avowed purpose, preparation, selection of people, assigning ‘who does what’, researching the destination, scheduling the plan and necessary prior meetings, the travel process itself and follow-up. Doc will base his presentation on an upcoming trip to Big Bone Lick State Park in Kentucky, then traveling south to walk the Cumberland Gap of Daniel Boone fame. He will explain how one arranges such a challenging program and the process, sometimes complex, that it entails. Doc will also discuss the problems and successes of a previous Explorers Club Adirondack camping and hiking trip in 2013. In outlining the necessary steps for planning, Doc, an inveterate traveler, will advise Members how they can correct and prepare for various possible eventualities.

Exploration Seminars Program are free of charge and for Members Only.
