Club Flag #123 on display at The Kon-Tiki Museum in Norway

The historic Explorers Club Flag #123, carried by Thor Heyerdahl on the famous Kon-Tiki expedition in 1947, is now on display at the Kon-Tiki Museum in Oslo, Norway. Norwegian Chapter Chair and Kon-Tiki Museum Guest Services Manager Synnøve Marie Strømsvåg recently picked up the historic flag from Club Headquarters in New York, and it is now on loan to the Norwegian Museum. Strømsvåg explains, “Flag #123 is now displayed at The Kon-Tiki Museum alongside the American and the Norwegian flags (on loan from the Truman Library) carried on the expedition. It is located only a couple of meters from the original raft, and it is very exciting to see these flags back with the raft for the first time since the historic expedition in 1947!”

We would like to extend a special thanks to Synnøve for all the work she has done on behalf of the Norwegian Chapter and the entire Explorers Club.
