Explorers Club announces new reciprocal Club in London

The Explorers Club is pleased to announce a new reciprocal club agreement with the Frontline Club in the heart of London.

The Frontline is a media club that uniquely combines eating, drinking and thinking. It is just a three-minute walk from Paddington Station which provides a regular 15 minute express train journey to and from London Heathrow airport.
Set up by Vaughan Smith in 2003 in honour of colleagues at the Frontline Television News agency who died pursuing their work, the Club celebrates this history with a selection of artifacts and memorabilia and changing photographic exhibitions that have included iconic images from some of the world’s finest photographers.

As well as the private clubroom, which has internet access, daily newspapers and a selection of magazines, there are also five bedrooms available to members. Food is served in the clubroom and there is an award-winning restaurant open all day for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Both the clubroom and restaurant menus include British classics with all produce supplied by Vaughan Smith from his Ellingham Farm in Norfolk.

The second floor houses the events room, used for the Frontline Club’s weekly programme of debates, documentary and film screenings which bring together many of the world’s best journalists, photographers, filmmakers and cameramen.
Barry Moss, Chairman of the British Chapter of the Explorers Club says, “the Frontline Club shares a very similar ethos to the Explorers Club.  Whilst it is a relatively new club, it is a place where Lowell Thomas and Walter Cronkite would likely to have felt equally at home.  I hope that the Frontline will become an established regular meeting place for British Chapter events. It is also a place where visiting members of the Explorers Club can mingle with interesting and like minded people.”
