Lot 1 - Johnson & Ward Map of Missouri and Kansas 1864

This is Johnson and Ward’s 1864 map of Missouri and Kansas covering the states divided into counties with special attention to transportation, especially roads, railroads, and canals. The map features three inset woodcuts: “Fire on the Prairie”, “Santa Fe From the Great Missouri Trail” and American Indians “Spearing Fish” at night from river canoes.

Lot 2 - A Tour of McMoons for Five - Where 40 Year old Moon Mission Photos Are Being Restored

The winner of the auction will get a tour of the LOIRP facility at McMoon’s for up to 5 people, at a date and time mutually agreeable with LOIRP staff. The LOIRP is housed at the NASA Ames Research Park at Moffett Field, CA which is located between Mountain View and Sunnyvale, California. The tour will include playback of a Lunar Orbiter tape for the first time in 40 years and an original Lunar Orbiter photographic print used to select landing sites in the 1960s. There is also a 50 year old Titan I ICBM outside in the parking lot that is undergoing restoration. A tour of the Titan will be provided as well.

Lot 3 - “T” Handle Walking Stick

A true “T” or cross handled walking stick is a rarity as Nature doesn’t tend to work in right angles. So, the finding of a natural stick suitable for serious use in this form is always a moment of celebration. In this instance, the stick was found with only some moderate bends along its axis in a coppiced hedge in the Republic of Ireland south of Dublin and north of Waterford. Permission from the landowner for the harvesting was granted, strict attendance to the Wildlife Act of 2000 was followed, and the stick was acquired.

This bag has a double zipper for easy opening and closure and a padlock for added security. The bag features discreetly embossed Monogram Vernis leather, textile lining, leather trimmings, Golden brass pieces, integral closure by double zipper, one inside flat pocket and one phone pocket. The bag may be hand held or carried on the arm. A padlock provides extra security for the closure of the bag and it also features a removable key bell and bottom studs to protect the base of the bag. This item is no longer in stock so this is sure to be a collector’s item.

Lot 7 - One Magnum of 2006 Radio-Coteau Timbervine Russian River Valley Syrah

This timber-lined Syrah vineyard is perched above the Russian River on the steep southeastern slope of Black Mountain. A ripe, sappy core of blackberry and black plum fruit anchors the showy nose, which also exhibits violets, black trumpet mushrooms, roasted chestnuts and smoked pork belly. The prodigious mid-palate hides fruit and minerals behind a wall of chewy tannins, but they emerge again with high toned violet, white pepper and sage on the long, meaty finish. Drink through at least 2014.

From American artist, Michael Blaser, St. Louis: Last Packet North, a framed color lithograph, signed and numbered 148/1500. The steamer “Golden Eagle” came to symbolize the twilight of St. Louis’ great maritime heritage. The “Golden Eagle” was owned by the Eagle Packet Company of St. Louis until 1944 and the pilot house is preserved at the Jefferson Memorial in St. Louis.
