The 2012 Awards - Call for Nominations

The Flag and Honors Committee invites you to nominate candidates for the Annual Awards 2012. We are seeking nominations for the best and brightest candidates in the world of exploration who typify the aspiration and spirit of each award and citation to be presented. Qualified candidates are explorers and field scientists who are making exceptional contributions to exploration, scientific research and the welfare of humanity, and who are dedicated to the principles of The Explorers Club as set forth in Articles II and III of the By-laws.

The Annual Awards are intended to celebrate excellence and, with the exception for the Edward C. Sweeney Medal and the Citation of Merit, are not solely limited to Explorers Club members.  However, you must be a member in good standing to submit an award or citation nomination.

The call for nominations is open for the five awards and citations listed below and nomination letters must be postmarked by September 15, 2011.

Pearlman, MED ‘78, Catherine Nixon Cooke, MED ‘84 and Mabel L. Purkerson, MED ‘99.
